Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Pride and Prejudice is a romance classic that has proven worthy through the test of time and still to this day gathers contemporary audiences. The story revolves around Elizabeth Bennet and her (sometimes shameless) family as she meets, hates, and falls in love with an unexpected visitor (*cough Mr. Darcy).
This is THE original enemies to lovers; yeah Jane Austen knew what was up when she was making this one. There is tension, pining, slow burn, character development (everything the book girlies could ever want), I could go on for ages but long story short, everyone should read this book at least once in their lifetime.
No one does regency pining like Jane Austen.
I obviously did not write this book, however I did illustrate it with many, many illustrations. The work to create an illustrated edition of this book was difficult yet rewarding and required a lot of planning.
I wanted to create an illustrated edition of a book in the same care and love that children’s books get but for an older audience this time.
Why can’t we as adults and young adults get pretty pictures in our books too?
There is a total of 40 pages of illustrations within the book varying between full spreads, half spreads, and spot illustrations with most of them falling in the former category. All of the artwork, typesetting, and design were done by me (with a lot of advice from my art buddies and research).
It was a lot of work but definitely something I wanted to create for both myself, fellow readers, collectors, or just people who like looking at pretty things.
As of February 21st, this project has raised $52,000 of their $2,500 goal. This project has 20 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $10, you will get one digital zine. For a pledge of $18, you will get one physical and digital art zine.
