Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

DOGS OF THE WORLD will be a uniquely beautiful collection of never-before-published images from world-renowned dog photographer Craig Turner-Bullock, that’s me – my friends made me write that bit, but I guess it’s true!

The Standard Edition will be more than a beautiful book. It’s an invitation to bring the world’s most extraordinary dogs into your home. It’s a piece that will not only enhance your coffee table but also spark conversations, invoke emotions, and inspire a deeper appreciation for the diversity of our best friends.

If you are seeking something truly exquisite, the Limited Edition offers you just that. Encased in a luxurious presentation box and including a hand-signed and numbered fine art print, this edition elevates an already gorgeous book into a work of art in its own right – a treasure that will stand the test of time, both in quality and in the timeless beauty it captures.

For almost a decade, I’ve travelled across continents, seeking out the pure essence of the canine spirit, in all its physical forms.

Dogs of the World began as a few photoshoots in different countries in 2015. Over the following two years, I continued travelling and photographing dogs wherever I went. In 2018, I went on a trip that changed everything. I visited New York, Paris and London, and in these places I photographed an American pitbull terrier, a French bulldog and a corgi. Completely by coincidence, these dogs all seemed to belong in those places, something I’ve strived to achieve in my client work for over two decades and Dogs of the World as it is today was born.

Each photograph I’ve crafted tells a story, not just of the dog but of the environment in which each breed has evolved and become interwoven with the landscape.

I have captured panoramic images of the dogs in these landscapes – which I call Dogoramas – they will feature heavily throughout the book. Though impressive on a phone or a laptop, they really come to life across a book’s double-page spread, trust me! These Dogoramas will feature alongside other images – candid close-up portraits, detail shots and action shots – to give the book variety.

The initial goal for breeds to photograph in their ancestral homes, countries they originated, places they have strong ties to or that they have become recognised as national ambassadors was 50. I have currently exceeded my initial goal and reached 60 breeds, with a few more trips still planned and scheduled.

The time to bring the project to life is finally here. This is where your support for this campaign comes in. I have self-funded the photography and travel, but I need to cover the production and printing costs.

This unique project marks the first time that the dogs of the world have been captured in their native environments on such a scale. So please join me in celebrating the wonderfully diverse array of shapes and sizes our best friends have taken and pay tribute to the bond that unites us: our love for dogs.

With your help we can embark on something truly magical: a photographic celebration of our truest friends:

Our Dogs of the World.

As of September 27th, this project has raised $9,000 of their $12,537 goal. This project has 40 days left to raise the $12,537 or it will not be funded.
