Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment! Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others. The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal. Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Hello, I’m Wade McKoy and I’ve been photographing pro skiers in Jackson Hole for the past 45 years, since 1976. I’ve created a 12×10-inch, 384-page, hardcover coffee table book that contains over 500 images. The book’s 44,888 words—stories behind the photos—capture the history and culture of of ski life in Jackson Hole and the Tetons during this transformative time.
Here is what some early reviewers are saying about it:
“Wade McKoy has created something truly amazing. This book belongs in the home libraries not only of everyone in Jackson Hole, but every person who loves skiing. It’s a story about skiing in Jackson Hole and the Tetons and nicely balances history with memoir—my absolute favorite kind of writing.” — Dina Mishev, editor Jackson Hole magazine
“This is it, at long last, the visual history of the most important center for radical skiing in North America, Jackson Hole, written and photographed by a southern raconteur with a flair for the sublime. Wade McKoy has the air of a gentleman, the soul of a poacher, and the eye of the historian—over five decades, he captured every legend to ski the Tetons and, in so doing, became one himself. Jackson is the greatest ski hill there is, and no one has told its story better.” — Stephen Casimiro, founder and editor, Adventure Journal
“What a document! This is as much history as it is art. I can see this book sitting in every bookstore in every ski town in the West and selling quite well.” — Porter Fox, author of Category Five
“A wonderful legacy piece. It will have a place in peoples homes, remain open, and be revisited often.” — Casey Sheahan, former editor of Powder
“When you see this book, you say, “I have to go to that place.” All those crazy spots and the crazy people who ski them.” — Pepi Stiegler, Olympic Champion and former ski school director at Jackson Hole
