Hi! I’m Heatherann Rose, the author and creator of “Growing Roses”, a children’s book that was inspired by my and my girls’ love for gardening, and more specifically roses! Together we fell in love with experiencing the flow of life living and working together right in our backyard and we wanted to share that excitement with others. Through whimsical illustrations, rhyming dialogue, and inquiry-based learning, my daughters Audrey & Poppy are the main characters who share all they know about growing roses in the garden.

This book tells the story of Audrey & Poppy’s garden that isn’t just a space filled with plants, but a living ecosystem where life coexists together! I want my girls to understand how the decisions that we make affect plants and animals in not just our backyard, but in the entire world. Experiencing the balance of life in our own backyard has given my girls a better understanding of how life is connected.

We cannot take advantage of our planet, we must take care of and protect it. Each generation wants the next to have a better life than they had, but with the depletion of our precious environment worsening,  I want to inspire children to be more focused on protecting the land. With your support of this book, you will not only be sharing a love of gardening with the youth, but to caretake for the environment surrounding us. The first book of The Rose Sisters Garden Series begins with the story of how we grow most gardens to harvest for ourselves. Though roses support some pollinators, they are mostly grown for us to enjoy their beauty. We can grow both for our own pleasure while also supporting ecosystems.

As of December 20th, this project has raised $7,500 of their $8,000 goal. This project has 2 days left to raise the $8,000 or it will not be funded.
