This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Time to lift that mask and Talk about Emotions!  According to Kindergarten teachers, social-emotional skills are the most important factor in children’s readiness for school. Research shows kids who can name and recognize emotions in themselves and others are better prepared to succeed in school and beyond, deal with challenges, and clearly communicate their needs.

Over the last year, we’ve all had some difficult emotions to deal with. And recognizing those emotions has become very challenging, with masks and social distancing complicating social-emotional learning. As the pandemic is slowly getting under control (we hope!), it’s time to turn that experience into an opportunity!

This book was born out of our experience as parents in 2020. Our daughter Maya grew up into a bizarre world of masks, virtual music classes, and family gatherings on Zoom. Like many others, we’ve struggled to explain the world we currently live in to our sweet little human in a way that felt positive and empowering. We started wondering: How can we teach our child these social-emotional skills when everyone’s facial expressions are covered by masks?

As of June 4th, this project has raised $7,300 of their $8,500 goal. This project has 2 days left to raise the $8,500 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $5, you will get one parent guide.  For a pledge of $25, you will get one book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/unmaskingfeelings/unmasking-feelings-a-lift-the-mask-childrens-book?
