    2. There is a lost luggage store – There is a store in Alabama, in Scottsboro to be precise, which sells luggage that has been lost by airlines. Don’t panic, though, as this does not mean there are going to be people on the lookout to snatch your suitcase. When items have been unclaimed after they have been held for three months and extensive tracking of the owners has been carried out, they are shipped to the Unclaimed Baggage Center. Half of the items are donated to charity, and the other half are sold.
    3. The current Secretary of State served in the Alabama House of Representatives – The current Secretary of State is John Merill, who is a Republican of Tuscaloosa County. He was elected back in 2014, after serving in the Alabama House of Representatives for one term. You can vote for these elections, be it AL or AZ SOS, and you will find more information about the different candidates online. It is certainly wise to keep up to date with how politics works in the area.
    4. The largest fishing tournament in the world takes place here – The Deep-Sea Fishing Rodeo takes place in Alabama. This is a three-day event and it is the biggest fishing tournament in the world. It features 30 different categories and attracts more than 75,000 spectators.
    5. You will get locked up for wrestling a bear – In Alabama, it is a Class-B felony to wrestle a bear. Did you know that there is an entire section in the legal code that details the various forms of bear exploitation that are deemed unlawful?
    6. Don’t dress up as any religious clergy members during Halloween – During Halloween, you will see some outrageous costumes, and a lot of people like to dress up as a dead religious member or zombie priest. Don’t do this in Alabama, though, as it is actually illegal. This is according to the Alabama Code Section 13a-14-4. You could end up with a fine of $500, and you may even do up to a year in prison, so it’s best to rethink the nun, priest, or any other type of religious costume you were considering.
