Good News Fridays: 5 Year Old Helps Feed A Homeless Person At Waffle House

This is a very good news story that happened in Alabama, and at a Waffle House!  A few days ago, 5-year-old Josiah Duncan and his mom Ava Faulk were eating at a Waffle House in Prattville, Alabama.  While they were at the restaurant, a gentleman who was homeless rode his bike to the Waffle House and went inside to sit down.  Of course, Josiah saw the gentleman, and wondered why he was homeless and began asking questions about this guy.

Ava did a good job answering Josiah’s questions about why was the guy “homeless.”  Some of the questions included “Where is his house? Where is his family? Where does he keep his groceries?”  And the biggest question, “Why does he not have any food?”  Josiah then talked her mother into getting the homeless guy a meal at Waffle House.  The homeless guy was just sitting there with no one helping him out.  So Ava purchased the homeless guy a full meal, including bacon!

But, what happened next is why this story has gone viral!  Josiah went over to the homeless guy, and he began to say a blessing to the gentleman.  The blessing was so loud everyone in the restaurant heard it.  It made many in the restaurant begin to cry!  The blessing Josiah said was:

“God our Father, God our Father, we thank you, we thank you, for our many blessings, for our many blessings, Amen, Amen.”

The homeless guy ate his meal and went on his way.  Everyone in the restaurant was forever changed by what Josiah did.  And of course, Ava was proud with what Josiah did!  Ava considered what Josiah did was a “touch of divine wisdom.”  Agreed!  WSFA covered this story, and it was gone viral online!  Below is the video of the story, if you want to read the original WSFA article, click here!

Thank you Ava for raising your son like this!  More parents should follow Ava’s parenting examples!  And everyone should take some lessons about how to follow like what Josiah did!  Heck, a 5-year-old kid has better knowledge on how to lead than many adults!  I hope the homeless guy can come forward, because I know some people out there would love to get him back on his feet!
