Kid President usually gets a lot of views on his videos. And Brad Montague and Kid President are awesome people, who I got to talk too a while back. Even though their videos gets lots and lots of views, his latest video only has around 80,000 views as of October 13th. It needs more views! And this video is a good one, especially if you like Sesame Street, view it below!
The video above talks about Socktober. Brad Montague and Kid President (Robby Novak) started Socktober in 2010 as a way to help the homeless in the communities of West Tennessee. In the past four years, the movement has expanded to all 50 states and four continents. It’s a simple idea for a really big problem:; do something seemingly small, like donate a pair of socks, make a difference. For someone who walks around a lot, let me tell you that a fresh pair of socks that are clean and has no holes makes a big difference!
The stats about homelessness in the Untied States is staggering! Every night in the United States an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, Soul Pancake and Kid President wants two million people to prove that even the smallest acts of love, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless.
Last year, more than 10,000 schools, families, businesses, and churches, rallied together to bring Socktober to life. And this year, they want to increase that number. To help increase the number of socks donated, enter Grover and Sesame Street! As Kid President would say; You don’t have to have all the answers; you don’t have to be super strong. You just got to show up. True words!
