Music Thursdays: Nerf Herder

Advertisements

This week on Music Thursdays, I am talking about a band you need to know about.  And they are running a crowdsourcing campaign to make a new album.  Nerf Herder does some very geeky/nerdy music, and there songs like “Mr. Spock” are great!

So, who is Nerf Herder?  The band is a pop punk band from Santa Barbara formed in 1994 by Parry Gripp (vocals, guitar), Charlie Dennis (bass) and Steve Sherlock (drums). They describe themselves as a “geek rock” band, and are known for simplistic modern punk-style songs with frequently humorous, juvenile, and, pop-culture-referencing lyrics.  The band is best known for composing and performing the theme song to the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The band broke up in 2003, but came back together in 2005.  And in 2013, they are now working on a new album.  But they need your help to make the album a reality, enter a crowdsourcing campaign!  The band really wants to get the album made, but without the funding they need, it can not be completed!   Here is the Nerf Herder pledge video!

By pledging to their Pledge Music campaign, you can get the CD for $15, digital download for $10, signed posters, studio hangouts, dinner with the band, and more!  As of June 5th, they are around 80% of their goal!  To help out Nerf Herder and support their new album, go to: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/nerfherder

Enjoy a full 51 minute performance of them from Nerdapalooza!
