This week on Music Thursdays, I am talking about three Kickstarter projects from musicians and bands across Georgia and Tennessee. These three projects are to make an album, but they need your support to make it happen!
Those Cats Kickstarter
This past November, Those Cats spent the weekend at Full Moon Studios in Watkinsville, Georgia doing some basic tracking for their first full length studio album! Things are off to a solid start, but a lot goes into making a quality album besides just basic tracking. Each song has to mixed and mastered followed by the process of album design/packaging, promotions, distribution, and travel. All of these factors add up and as a group of musicians working day jobs to pay the rent and bills [some of us in school], their resources are limited.
They decided to launch a Kickstarter campaign to fund the remaining elements needed to produce a quality album for all to hear. They have been writing, gigging, and playing together as Those Cats for the past three years and getting this album off the ground and running means the world to them! All your support is greatly appreciated and please help them by spreading the word of their Kickstarter project!
As of January 2nd, this Kickstarter project has raised around $1,669 of the $3,000 goal they need to be funded. And as you know in Kickstarter, a project is not funded until the fundraising goal is reached! This project only has 15 days left to reach the $3,000 goal. The Autumn EP Kickstarter
Corey Lennox is a Berklee grad, music teacher, and rock guitarist/vocalist. He has been obsessed with music since he was old enough to work a CD player (some of his first words were from a B-52’s song. No lie!) His band, Surreal, is an uplifting progressive pop/rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. They combine complex musical ideas with a ton of heart and emotion. They’ve spent about a decade now working on creating this sound. The problem is, they really don’t have any good recordings to show for it! That’s why they need your help funding their new project, “The Autumn EP”.
As of January 2nd, this Kickstarter project has raised around $1,340 of the $2,000 goal they need to be funded. And as you know in Kickstarter, a project is not funded until the fundraising goal is reached! This project only has 6 days left to reach the $2,000 goal. Megan Barker Kickstarter
Megan Barker is so excited about her debut EP! She will be recording this 5-song EP in Nashville, TN for two weeks in February. During the recording process, she will have award-winning musicians, producers, engineers from Nashville in the studio with her. These songs will be fully produced and radio ready. Here’s where you come in! Your donations will be put toward paying the musicians, producer, engineer, studio fees, mixing and mastering, manufacturing, marketing, distribution, and also a photoshoot with a celebrity photographer for the EP artwork.
