The Best 5 New Fall TV Shows For Geeks/Nerds

Advertisements

Next week, the new Fall TV season will officially kick off on the broadcast networks!  There are many new and returning shows battling each other for your eyeballs.  So I have compiled a list of seven new shows premiering this Fall that any geek or nerd should watch!  Let’s start with the obvious pick.

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Created and directed by Joss Whedon who made The Avengers.  The show is based on Marvel Comics’ secret intelligence organization that has appeared in countless titles, including Iron Man, Captain America and The Ultimates, since being introduced in the 1960s.  The military law-enforcement agency’s moniker stands for Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistic Directorate, which also has evolved over time in the comics.

This show is being billed as having the same magic and charm from the Marvel movies.  I mean, we will get to see some new superheroes and see Agent Coulson on TV!  I can not wait to see this show and you should watch it!  The show premieres on Tuesday September 24th at 7pm central on ABC.

Almost Human

Created by J.H. Wyman and produced by J.J. Abrams, Almost Human is an action-packed police drama set 35 years in the future, when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids.  An unlikely connection is forged when a cop with an aversion to robots and a robot with unexpected emotional responses investigate cases in a brave new world.

This show is futuristic and going to be interesting.  Some people say robots will soon get smart enough to take over the human race.  Could this show serve as a wake up call?  The show premieres on Monday November 4th at 7pm central on FOX.

The Blacklist

Created by John Eisendrath, the plot of the show is interesting. The world’s most wanted criminal mysteriously turns himself in and offers to give up everyone he has ever worked with.  His only condition is he will only work with a newly-minted FBI agent (Megan Boone) with whom he seemingly has no connection with.

Why would a criminal turn himself in and rat other people out.  That is going to be the interesting part of this TV show!  This show premieres on Monday September 23rd at 9pm central on NBC.

The Michael J. Fox Show

Created by Michael J. Fox and Will Gluck, this show is inspired by the former Family Ties actor’s life, Fox stars as a husband and father of three from New York City dealing with family, career and challenges — including Parkinson’s disease — as he goes back to work as a news anchor.

Since Michael J. Fox is a famous geek starring in those Back to the Future movies, this is a show that is worth a try!  The show premieres on Thursday September 26th at 8pm central on NBC.

The Tomorrow People

This show is based on the original British television series of the same name, the series follows a group of young people who possess powers as the result of human evolution.  These people are super-evolved humans with the three T’s (telekinesis, telepathy, and teleportation), a coming of age story, and a big bad government organization led by Lucifer!

This show is getting a lot of buzz and I hope it’s worth watching!  This show premieres on Wednesday October 9th at 8pm central on The CW.
