Some dogs we call ‘rescues’ don’t feel like they’ve been rescued at all.
Sansha remembers the days of her life as a stray as the age of Freedom, and nothing will convince her otherwise.
She remembers running wild through a mobile home park, where every day was wide open and the world belonged to her and her brother Blanco.
She remembers days before the backyard fence and before captivity became their life.
Now she’s trapped in a small yard, watching the world move on without her, and what hurts even more is that Blanco seems content to stay.
As you sink your teeth into their world, Sansha & Blanco will accompany you through a 4-issue limited series told through the eyes of two dogs navigating captivity, memory, and change.
Through non-linear storytelling you’ll explore the way the dog duo sees the world, including:
The Freedom They Used to Have:
Wild days in the mobile home park: boundless, dangerous, totally free.
The Captivity They Now Endure:
The same overgrown backyard, fences that become horizons. For Sansha, it’s type of imprisonment.
The Choice That Separates Them:
Sansha remembers and yearns while Blanco forgets and survives. One of these two paths leads to peace, while the other to something freedom-shaped, but unreachable.
Issue #1 introduces Sansha & Blanco, two dogs trapped in their backyard. Sansha yearns for a freedom her brother cannot comprehend.
Issue #2 finds Sansha contemplating change, while the Twelve Lands are visited by the mysterious Tweed Man.
Issue #3 follows Sansha’s great plan to reclaim her freedom, while flashbacks explore the packs’ rebellion againt a common enemy.
Issue #4 sees the aftermath of Sansha & Blanco’s struggle against change, decisions, and happenings much greater and complex than they could ever understand…
