Welcome to the Animation Monday segment! Each week here on Geek Alabama, Animation Monday will feature stuff from the animation and cartoon worlds. Animation has become an extremely popular format in today’s media driven world. And we here at Geek Alabama love to feature animation content!

Renowned Vocaloid producers provide the soundtrack for a new musical animation project inspired by Japan’s oldest story, “Princess Kaguya”!

Animation creator Shingo Yamashita has directed opening sequences for popular anime series such as “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 1, “Chainsaw Man” and “Urusei Yatsura.” With a rich visual style that echoes the narratives and impactful, dynamic camera work, his sequences have made a vivid impression on anime fans worldwide.

“Cosmic Princess Kaguya!”, his feature-length directorial debut, tells the tale of two girls who bond through song. In the dream-filled virtual realm of Tsukuyomi, their destined moment takes center stage in dazzling visual splendor.

The theme song and other tunes that bring the story to life are provided by an ensemble of distinguished Vocaloid producers, starting with ryo (supercell), who shook the music world with the hit song “Melt” performed by the Vocaloid Hatsune Miku, as well as kz (livetune), 40mP, HoneyWorks, Aqu3ra and yuigot.

This film is the first title from Yamashita’s Studio Chromato, which is producing the animation jointly with Studio Colorido, known for its charming characters and spectacular imagery in films like “Penguin Highway” and “A Whisker Away.”
