After dying, living, and learning about love, Princess Scarlett, who failed in her quest for revenge against her father’s enemy, awakens in the “Land of the Dead.” This is a maddening world where people engage in plunder and violence, and the powerless and injured become “Nothingness,” disappearing from existence. Upon learning that her enemy, her uncle Claudius, who killed her father and usurped the throne, also exists in this world, Scarlett once again vows to seek revenge. Meanwhile, she meets Hijiri, a nurse from modern-day Japan. The two meet across time, and while they initially clash, they end up traveling together through the “Land of the Dead.”
Scarlett can only survive by fighting, while Hijiri does not want to fight. As Scarlett heals her wounds and is touched by Hijiri’s warm personality, who treats both friend and foe with kindness, her frozen heart gradually thaws.
