Bryan Cranston on Everything Is Going to Be Great: “It’s Aspirational, Hopeful, Sad, Sweet—All of It”

JustWatch is spotlighting Bryan Cranston’s exclusive reflections on his role in the new family drama Everything Is Going to Be Great”, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in June. Best known for his unforgettable performances in Breaking Bad and Trumbo, Cranston, alongside Allison Janney, now stars in a tender, emotional ensemble film that explores the complexities of connection, change, and letting go. His quote appears as part of JustWatch’s Why to Watch feature, which showcases personal insights from top actors to guide viewers toward meaningful stories.

Bryan Cranston on Everything Is Going to Be Great:

“When I first read the title, I thought, “Oh, I hope this is going to be great,” and it didn’t disappoint me. There is a HUGE surprise in the middle of this movie that will SHOCK you. And it speaks to life itself. We anticipate people being with us all the time. You leave high school or college and you think, “My best friends and I are going to be friends forever,” but that’s just not the case. Everybody moves on and you do different things. People come and go in your life, and that’s what I love about this movie. It’s aspirational, it’s hopeful, it’s sad, it’s sweet, it’s joyous, it’s family, it’s argumentative. It’s all of these things wrapped into one.”
