The Tri-state tornado was an anomaly in every sense of the word. A long track discrete supercell producing a single violent tornado for several hours, travelling 219 miles, and killing 700 people, right at the northern edge of the warm front. There are many things about this tornado that we will never know. But we know exactly where it happened, who it affected, and how it affected them. So today, nearing the 100 year anniversary of the deadliest tornado in US history, we’re going to follow the 219 mile path, in person, from Ellington Missouri to Princeton Indiana, and learn about the anomalous meteorology, horrific damage, and incredible stories along the way.
