Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

The fans asked, and we (finally) listened! We are SO very excited to announce the sequel to our award-winning children’s book, Ivy the Very Determined Dog is here (almost)! Let us introduce you to Ivy and her Rose Bud, a true story about one dog’s search for a forever home and the power of her kindness.

For those who are new to our story, let us give you a little background. At the age of three, our French bulldog Ivy became suddenly paralyzed in her back legs due to a neurological disease. That did not stop her from living her best life, and sometimes with assistance from a cool set of wheels. Her determination inspired us daily (and still does), and we set out on a mission to further share her message to never give up, especially when things get ruff!

We wrote and self-published her “PAWtobiography”, Ivy the Very Determined Dog in hopes to reach young minds and show them that anything is possible. In 2018 we ran a Kickstarter to help fund the initial cost of the illustrator and printing and more than doubled our initial goal within days of its release. The response was overwhelming (still gives us goosebumps thinking about it)!

As you might know, when dogs first meet, they typically greet each other with a full sniff down. Well, when Ivy and Rosie met for the first time their greeting was very different, and it is really the foundation of Ivy and her Rose Bud. Instead of the typical dog sniff down, Rosie began to kiss Ivy’s two back legs. The two back legs that no longer worked like they once did. Think about that for a minute. She could be kissing anywhere on Ivy, but she chose to lick her back legs. (We know dogs are just amazing!) Not a day has gone by over the past six years where Rosie does not kiss Ivy’s back legs. She does not miss a day!

Ivy and her Rose Bud is a true story about the unsung hero in our home, Rosie. There is no doubt in our mind that Rosie came into our lives to provide love, kindness and playfulness to Ivy’s life. She has 100% given Ivy love and companionship that is so beautiful to witness. We will be forever grateful to Rosie for her love for Ivy and our family, and we look forward to extending her love to your heart and home through our new book. She is a daily reminder to us; how simple acts of kindness go a long way.

As of December 2nd, this project has raised $5,700 of their $7,500 goal. This project has 15 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $25, you will get one signed book.  For a pledge of $50, you will get one book and donate one book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ivdd/ivy-and-her-rose-bud-a-childrens-book?
