Of course, I did go and see Deadpool and Wolverine on Thursday night. And wow, the entire movie was spectacular! I see the box office has exploded with over $210 million dollars in one weekend, and this is an R-rated movie. So below, I am going to talk about my thoughts about Deadpool and Wolverine. And there are spoilers!
The movie begins in a multiverse where we are traveling within different Earth timelines. I love the opening few minutes of the movie with all the violence and blood throughout the movie screen. The Time Variance Authority is trying to capture Deadpool, and of course he will not go easily. There is a lot of death in the first 5 minutes of the movie, and I loved every minute of it!
Deadpool tries to join the Avengers, but he is turned down. So instead. he is working at a used car dealership, a very appropriate place for someone who curses a lot. Deadpool’s life is down in the dumps. And at a birthday party he finally gets captured.
Mr. Paradox offers Deadpool a place on a different Earth multiverse. And I love the scenes throughout this part of the film where the background people working were so overjoyed seeing Deadpool curse and break the fourth wall.
And this is where we find the villain in the movie which is called a time tipper, which can pretty much destroy any multiverse timeline quickly. Mr. Paradox wants to destroy Deadpool’s current Timeline.
But instead Deadpool steals a device where he can travel to different multiverses. And this movie was interesting at this part, because Deadpool travels to different multiverses with different Wolverines. And most of the Wolverines in different multiverses reacted to Deadpool with violence!
Eventually Deadpool finds a Wolverine in a multiverse who is out of it and drunk, yeah I love a drunk Wolverine!
Things take a very dark turn when Deadpool and Wolverine are forced into the Void, which is pretty much a place where people are forgotten and to die. I love these scenes where Deadpool and Wolverine fought each other with gruesome violence, with a decaying 20th Century Fox logo in the background!
We get to see Professor X’s twin sister Cassandra Nova. And the murder of Johnny Storm. The scenes of Deadpool and Wolverine driving together in a Honda Minivan were very interesting as they could not get along and fight each other once again.
We also get to encounter other X-Men characters such as Gambit, Elektra, Blade, and Natchios. We also got to see Laura, otherwise known as X-23! The now formed alliance goes back to fight Cassandra, and the action scenes throughout the sequence were really cool to look at.
Cassandra manages to escape into Deadpool’s timeline, and has her sights on the time ripper to destroy everything. The next part of this movie was just brilliant, seeing Deadpool and Wolverine encounter a bunch of different Deadpool’s from many different multiverses. Young Deadpool’s, old Deadpool’s, a Deadpool head, every variant of Deadpool you can think of was present.
And the fighting of all the Deadpool’s in the New York City streets was just spectacular. And the ending part of the movie was great as well. With Deadpool and Wolverine joining hands to stop Cassandra from destroying the time Ripper.
Cassandra is dead. Mr. Paradox is arrested, and Deadpool and Wolverine meet friends at a party, a pretty interesting ending.
Overall the movie from start to finish was spectacular. I loved seeing the special X-Men characters. And I loved the bromance between Deadpool and Wolverine throughout the movie.
Deadpool was funny as he has ever been. And Wolverine woke up from his drunk slumber. Yes, this is a movie to go see immediately!
It is rated R for a reason, there is plenty of gruesome violence and cussing throughout the movie, but the violence wasn’t too bad. Just go see the movie! you will not regret it!
