Hello Everyone! My name is Susanne Hovis and I am the author of my latest childrens book: Joy Stories: A Banana Slug Get’s Her Name and I am so excited you are here!
This is the first book of many in the Joy Stories Series!

Joy Stories: A Banana Slug Get’s Her Name is a children’s book about a shiny, sparkly, banana slug who lives deep in the magical Pacific Northwest forest and shares her shiny, sparkly, teachings with everyone she meets!
Although this is a children’s book, it’s not just for the kiddos, it’s for the parents too! Adults who have read or who have heard Susanne’s readings of the story have expressed that they too connect with, and feel their shiny, sparkly self – just as the main character does!
In this first book in the series, I introduce you to a main character who, through her example and guidance, teaches those she meets along her way how to transform the way they feel by using their six mental faculties of:
- Imagination
- Will
- Perception
- Intuition
- Reason
- Memory
The Banana Slug is unique and her ways are inspired from beyond! She is as ethereal, universal, and infinite as the emotion of joy itself. I believe in her path and I know you will too!
