Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Hi, I’m Elnaz! I created 3:00AM, a table-talk card game inspired by the honesty of late-night conversations that hit deep. Blending EQ and philosophy, each question is designed to encourage you to think and feel authentically and to connect with others intimately.

To me, intimacy is the desire to understand and bond with depth. We don’t have to always agree, but we can communicate, exchange, and learn from one another. That’s the power of a good question combined with the openness to receive.

The truth is we can only get to know others as deeply as we are willing to know ourselves. While I designed this game to help us bond with one another, the intention of each question is give us all the opportunity to reflect on what it is we individually feel, especially as we reevaluate our belief systems and reinvent our identity. The next intention is to share those feelings and cultivate meaningful relationships.

When I tried other table-talk games, I still felt disconnected. I wanted the questions to be more thought-provoking. So, I decided to create my own.

Many of these questions were inspired by my own internal struggle when faced with various crossroads, whether mental or emotional. When I graduated law school, I had to face the reality that I didn’t actually want to practice law. I wanted to be a creator. I always did. My own journey surrounding career and relationships required me to learn how to trust my own voice.

At the time, I saw changing my mind as a failure when now I see it as a sign of courage, however small, to live as the most authentic version of myself. Each realization and choice I made led to a domino effect of other epiphanies. How do I want to show up in the world? What makes me feel alive? How do I relate to others? What is my relationship with myself? Along the way, the people I met expanded my mind and revealed different aspects of myself to me.

3:00AM is a product of those experiences and the result of my core belief that we, as humans, are mirrors to one another. We crave and thrive off of real connection. Not superficial talk. The more honest we are with ourselves, the more honestly we can communicate with another. The more open we are, the more we can inspire and be inspired by each other.

Here we are. Celebrating our differences. Connecting through shared human experiences. Rediscovering ourselves. Thinking. Feeling. Healing.

It’s okay to get close.

As of August 16th, this project has raised $4,300 of their $8,000 goal. This project has 7 days left to raise the $8,000 or it will not be funded.
