A Little Something Extra Ice Cream is a mobile ice cream truck, created as a job opportunity for our son, Hunter, who has Down syndrome. Now, we are honored to train and employ many other amazing people with intellectual and physical exceptionalities. The ice cream truck is used to teach social skills, life skills, and employment skills for our amazing workers. Every employee goes through a certification program to become ICE CREAM EXPERTS!
Our ice cream truck carries a wide variety of pre-packaged, Blue Bunny Ice Cream. The truck’s creatively crafted design represents not only the delicious treats we carry, but also the wonderful people whose lives it enhances. Just as the old-fashioned ice cream trucks, A Little Something Extra has iconic ice cream music playing as we serve our guests. Did you know that 2020 is the 100th anniversary of the world’s very first ice cream truck, introduced in 1920?
In the short time of A Little Something Extra’s existence, we have found our ice cream truck is an innovative way to teach awareness, acceptance and the value of diversity; we’ve also found it adds a great sense of happiness and satisfaction to our customers.
