This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

It’s time to REFRAME the issues that have been used to divide us, and start the conversations that can restore our faith in each other, renew our hope, and reweave the social fabric of this country that has been torn apart.
We have to try something new!
We believe that artists, and powerful storytelling, don’t just get us through the storm to the other side, they can help reshape the world to write a NEW story.
Today we’re launching twelve new artworks, starting conversations with new audiences, with a new technology, to talk about what we have in common. And we need your help!
Four and a half years ago, we launched a record-breaking public art campaign called We the People, distributing free art to tens of millions worldwide that highlighted the diversity and inherent dignity of all Americans. We followed that with We The Future, reaching millions of students every day in their classrooms. We stood in solidarity with lawsuits and protest songs and mass marches, resistance both quiet and loud.
It worked! And it didn’t. Divisions in our country have not only remained, many have grown more calloused than before. Groups that were certain they were speaking to all Americans—including us—found we were mostly just talking to each other.
Our new campaign, the REFRAME, is meant to get us out of our bubbles, to fuel collaboration and conversation over division and isolation. How will the conversation be different this time? Because we are talking about what we have in common.
Launching the day after Independence Day—to recognize our INTERdependence—this campaign uses a new technology – augmented reality – to transform the images we are known for at Amplifier into an experience that ensures that we not only see each other—but hear each other.
Point your phone towards a portrait in this series, no matter where it’s found, and it will come to life. It will literally start speaking, delivering a simple message, and then a simple question, straight from the 12 leaders in this series, in their own voice.
With your help, this art—and these conversations—will go far beyond the progressive leaning urban centers that have been the focus of so much activism. Billboards and full-page newspaper ads will appear in cities like Mesa, Aurora, Tulsa, and Jacksonville, and in dozens of rural communities in between. Your support will also allow us to reach new audiences through targeted teacher outreach and partnerships with faith-based communities.
Even after these years of discord, all Americans still share so much. We all share the desire to feel safe, seen, and respected. We all want schools that nurture our children. We all share the need to be cared for. We all need rest and recovery. We are all worried about online disinformation, and no matter how we define the way we get there, we do all want clean air and water. We all want to belong, to love, and to be loved.
