As women, most of us are running around on all cylinders 24/7 and constantly putting others before us. Sometimes, we forget to check in on ourselves and take that personal care approach. How about spending a little “me time” to keep the body functioning right inside and having the outside reflect your healthy beauty? Our experts are sharing a few of their favorite tips that deliver the results women are looking for.

1. Skincare Two-Punch

Proper skincare can become a complicated subject, and it’s easy to become confused over what your complexion needs to remain vibrant, healthy, and smooth. To make it easy, one dermatologist advises purchasing two key, topical products that are clinically proven to work. One is retinol, and the other is vitamin C.

Retinol is worn at night where it does an excellent job of repairing the skin while you sleep. Retinol helps to speed up cell turnover, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, get rid of acne, and boost collagen/elastin production, says Dr. Jessica Krant, an NYC dermatologist.

Applying a vitamin C formula on the face and neck in the morning will help brighten your complexion, protect it from sun damage and maintain your skin’s moisture balance, she adds.

2. Matcha Green Tea

Drinking a cup of bright green tea called matcha is excellent for female health. The tea has the ability to balance the hormones, namely the adrenal glands, to keep reproduction and menstruation running smoothly.

Matcha tea is great for maintaining a slim figure as it contains catechins or natural antioxidants that can help boost the metabolism for fat loss.

A hot cup of matcha on a regular basis also improves brain function in older women and fights heart disease and high blood sugar.

3. Healthy Urinary Tract

If you have ever had a urinary tract infection (UTI), you are certainly not alone. More than 10 million women in the US come down with a UTI every year. An infection like this can show up in the bladder, urethra, or kidneys.

A woman’s urethra is shorter than a man’s, and that allows bacteria easier access to the bladder.

To avoid a UTI, urologists recommend drinking plenty of fluids throughout the day, peeing when the urge comes, wiping front to back, peeing before and after sex, and not using scented feminine products.

Cranberry juice doesn’t always work, but adding a packet of powdered organic supplements to your favorite beverage will bring UTI relief.

4. Eye Makeup Trio

Your beautiful eyes are something people notice, but maybe you’re not sure how to use cosmetics to enhance them. One simple rule is to create a classic eye with just three products.

Professional makeup artist Andrew Sotomayor says that you can’t miss with smudged dark eyeliner, a medium-shade neutral eyeshadow, and mascara. Have fun playing around with these products that accentuate every eye color and eye shape.

5. Belly Fat Burner

Who doesn’t desire a flat tummy, right?

Diet will always play a key role in the size of one’s belly, but did you know that lifting dumbbells can smooth away the rolls?

Forget those annoying crunches. Instead, many trainers advise women to start lifting dumbbells three times a week, one in each arm, and perform exercises such as deadlifts, lunges, and squats.

6. Stronger, Longer Hair

When rice water is created, it is jam-packed with vitamins, amino acids, and antioxidants. If you want longer, stronger, healthier hair, then try a rice water rinse once a week post-shampooing.

Dermatologists say to rub rice water into the hair and scalp and allow it to sit for about 10 minutes, then, rinse it out.

To make it, add 1/4 cup of rice to a bowl and fill it with 1 1/2 cups of water, and stir until the water becomes cloudy. Strain the rice and keep the liquid in a bowl with a lid.

Let the water stand at room temperature for 24 hours to allow fermentation. Shake it well before using.

Let’s face it. Most women are extremely busy and want simple, fast health and beauty remedies that work. We think you will enjoy trying these wonderful tips!
