Crowdsourcing Mornings: Tidbyt: The Retro Display From The Future

Advertisements

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at:  https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

Hey, we’re Mats and Rohan, the creators of Tidbyt. We’ve built a new way to keep up with the things you care about.  Use Tidbyt to check the weather, or when your train is arriving. Track your favorite stock tickers, or your Dogecoin holdings 🐶 Browse our steadily growing collection of apps and choose what matters to you.

Tidbyt comes in a solid walnut enclosure and looks pretty great on your desk or bookshelf. Set it up once with your phone, and it stays updated through its own Wi-Fi connection.  Tidbyt can display pretty much anything, as long as it fits on the screen.

Every Tidbyt is unique, and with the Tidbyt app, you can schedule what you want to see and when. Your subway stop every morning? Got it. Your calendar throughout the day? Done.

Tidbyt will cycle through the apps you select, one at a time. They can be scheduled to run at different times if you wish, or all at once. And if you want to keep it by your bed, Tidbyt’s Night Mode can make the display go ultra-dim so it doesn’t bother you while you sleep.

You can choose multiple apps to be displayed on your Tidbyt at the same time. It will cycle or rotate through, displaying each of them for either 5, 10 or 15 seconds (you pick). Easily cycle through multiple stock tickers, time and weather in different cities, multiple subway stops, a bunch of fun messages, or all of the above.

As of March 16th, this project has raised $190,000 of their $40,000 goal. This project has 29 days left to raise as much as it can.  For a pledge of $1, you will get project updates.  For a pledge of $199, you will get one Tidbyt.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tidbyt/retro-display/description
