With the ongoing spread of COVID-19, travelling internationally, hosting concerts and other events, have become difficult. While many events have had to be postponed or canceled, Crypton Future Media is launching a crowdfunding campaign with the goal of building a new concert experience together with fans around the world!
“MIKU EXPO” is the virtual singer Hatsune Miku’s world tour series which celebrated its 5th anniversary in 2019. In the 6 years since the first concert, “MIKU EXPO” has traveled to 30 cities worldwide, performing 68 shows in front of over 190,000 attendees.
Past “MIKU EXPO” concert events featured brand new songs as well as the big hits for fans who had been eagerly waiting for an opportunity to see Hatsune Miku on stage, where the latest voice synthesis technology would allow her to sing and speak in the local language. At the same time, exhibitions featuring Japanese and local artists, workshops, and other sub-events were held to fit the location and scale of each event.
“HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2021 Online” aims to bring together fans from around the world, and the show will be streamed for free. Using cutting-edge technology, we will be providing a brand new concert experience never seen before!
Just like past MIKU EXPO tours, sub events, exhibitions, and workshops will also be held online.
The minimum funding goal will allow us to produce a 10-song show, with 2 stretch goals set to each add 2 more songs into the setlist!
Rewards such as having a say in the concert’s special effects or choosing new songs to be included in the setlist will be provided for backers to help us build the live show together.
Once the funding goal is met, production for “HATSUNE MIKU EXPO 2021 Online” will begin with an expected event date set for June 2021.
As of December 30th, this project has raised $555,000 of their $242,033 goal. This project has 11 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $10, you will get one VIP membership.
