Wind Creek Hospitality is hosting the Partners In Progress video contest. Wind Creek Hospitality is giving you a chance to fund your favorite nonprofits! Wind Creek is dedicated to creating opportunity in communities we call home and we aren’t alone in this mission. Over 30,000 501(c)(3) groups in Alabama and North Florida are standing in the gaps to provide resources for education, the arts, health, disaster relief and community service. Without funding, none of their work is possible. That’s where you come in!
Starting May 3rd, verified 501(c)(3) groups may submit a contest entry and a short video explaining how they make a difference. On May 16th, all qualifying video entries will be posted on the contest website and voting will begin. The seven nonprofits to receive the most votes by May 31, 2019 will win a share of $125,000!

Beautiful Rainbow Cafe and Beautiful Rainbow Catering Company are work-based learning programs operated by the Gadsden City Schools in partnership with the City of Gadsden. Beautiful Rainbow Cafe is a food establishment open to the public which serves lunch, coffee, and sweets daily. The Cafe uses a garden-to-table food concept in which students with significant cognitive disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder perform all tasks necessary to operate the cafe. These tasks range from actually growing the food in the cafe garden to food preparation, customer service, operation of the point of sale system, sanitation and maintenance. Students are taught how to operate kitchen equipment, follow recipes, cultivate food, provide high quality customer service, and operate the point of sale system to accept payment and make change.
The mission of Beautiful Rainbow is to use sophisticated food production and food service as vehicles to teach students with disabilities the functional academic and vocational skills they will need to obtain community-based integrated employment. Since the inception of the cafe, the program has placed 16 students in private employment and each of these students have maintained their employment for up to two years. The program operates year-long and typically provides training to more than 35 students per year.
