Good News Fridays: Prayers For Gary Pierce

Advertisements

This week on Good News Fridays, I am talking about a Alabama based story about someone who needs some help.  This person needing a little support serves in our community, and if something happens to him, sometimes they need the communities help to get things back on track!

Last weekend, Gadsden Police Officer Sgt. Gary Pierce was involved in a motorcycle accident near the Rainbow City area.  He was transported to a Gadsden hospital, then transported to UAB.  Pierce has done all kinds of work from third shift patrol to working at the Etowah County Narcotics Enforcement Unit.  Now, the family is needing help for what will be some heavy medical bills.

The family is posting updates about Gary on their Facebook page Prayers For Gary P.  You can donate to the family online via the First Responders For Christ website.  Donations should be designated for the Pierce family fund.  You can mail donations to:

WinSouth Credit Union
110 South 26th St.
Gadsden, AL 35904

Designate that the donation should go to the Gary Pierce Recovery Fund.
Donations also can be dropped off at any WinSouth location.  The First United Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff is also collecting donations to help with his family’s needs while he is in the hospital.  And a motorcycle group is also planning a ride called “One Way Out” to raise money for the family on Saturday, March 29.  The best way to keep up with this story, is to follow their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/PrayersForGaryPierce

Brute Fitness is also hosting a fundraiser on Saturday March 22nd in Gadsden.  There will be a Crossfit competition and auction all beginning at 9 am!  To learn more about this, visit the ABC 33/40 story at: http://www.abc3340.com/story/25042884/auction-and-fitness-competition-fundraiser-for-injured-gadsden-officer
