Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Three years ago, Naya Create became the fourth-biggest crowdfunding campaign in Dutch history. 1,700 backers believed in a vision: that keyboards and mice haven’t evolved with how we actually work. We delivered on that promise, with every single Naya Create unit shipped, and validated something important: modular input works. People want their hands to stay on the keyboard. They want precision tools at home row. They want to stop breaking flow.

We always knew Create was not for everyone. The niche form factor, notable learning curve, and premium price point left a lot of people on the sidelines. The feedback was consistent: “I love the modules, but I’m not ready to commit to re-learning how to type”. Create was just the beginning,

Welcome Naya Connect.

Connect is the evolution of everything we learned from Create. Building on three years of module development, community feedback, and real-world use. We kept the modular system that people loved. We kept the ecosystem approach. Since day one you asked us to give you our modules standalone: Finally, the universal Naya Dock for all of our modules! Combined with a familiar, low-profile, customizable and premium build mechanical keyboard: Naya Type. And an ecosystem of snap-on Attachments: Naya Multipad and Naya 6-Key.

The idea is simple: Start with what you need now and expand over time. Use modules with your current keyboard via the Dock. Or go all-in with Naya Type for the full integrated ecosystem. Either way, you’re not locked in, you’re connected.

Modular input shouldn’t be a luxury just for the committed few. Everyone deserves a tailor made solution. That’s the vision that Naya Connect is built upon.

Developers have their mechanical keyboards and macro pads. Business pros have their spreadsheet shortcuts and numpads. Video editors and 3D artists have their dials and 3D navigation devices. But every one of these tools lives in its own silo, hardware and software completely isolated from each other. So when you switch projects, when your tools update, when your role evolves, you’re back to square one. New hardware. New software. New learning curve.

We’re unifying all of it into one ecosystem, upgradable, exchangeable, adjustable. Perfectly tailored to how you work, and built to grow with you.

Look at your desk. A keyboard here, mouse there. A numpad gathering dust. A macro pad you swore you’d use more. Some sticky notes to help you remember short-cuts. Maybe a dial, maybe a calculator, definitely too many cables. Every tool you’ve added promised to help but now you’re managing the clutter instead of your work.

We took a different approach: every piece works in harmony together.

As of January 23rd, this project has raised $448,000 of their $11,691 goal. This project has 18 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $66, you will get one Naya Deck.  For a pledge of $179, you will get one Naya Type.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/naya-create/naya-connect?
