Cyber Frame is a cyber fantasy TTRPG system for 3-6 players created by the team at Blue Cottage Media to bring new excitement to your tabletop gaming group. The system is designed with both the players and game master in mind to tell a new kind of story. With rousing narrative, fast paced tactical combat, and simplified action mechanics, Cyber Frame makes for an easy to run game for new or experienced tabletop gamers. Versatility is the name of the game, as it implements a Skill Point system so you can grow and customize your character abilities the way you want, without using a predetermined class path!
Cyber Frame can be implemented into nearly any high fantasy TTRPG setting, and is designed to meld into your own gaming world. The caveat? It takes place in a dystopian future where magic has all but faded, replaced by technology and controlled by those who create it. In this future, a strange event occurred, releasing a deadly miasma which covers the surface of the planet. Any creature this fog encompasses is turned into a withered undead husk of their former selves. Because of this, the fog garnered its moniker: the Withering. To escape the necrotic power of the Withering, civilization banded together behind high walls and deep underground. Using powerful technology, they keep the fog at bay beyond the walls, leaving the old world behind and building a new one in the shadows of their concrete fortresses. Those who create this technology find themselves the new world leaders, and command civilization to fill the needs of their wallet rather than find a solution to the killer fog at their doorstep.
As technology advances, so does the cybernetic industry. In order to better connect with this new technological world, engineers develop the Cyber Frame. This small processor is implanted at the base of the skull and carefully networked into the nervous system. It’s used as an integration system, allowing citizens to connect seamlessly to the technology of the world around them. Getting a new cyber upgrade becomes as common as buying a new pair of kicks, and those with the most tech rule the streets. Those without find themselves in the lowest rung of society. That is until the rise of Chaos. This wild magic appears without warning, binding the natural elements to unsuspecting hosts called chaotics. Conduits for this magic, chaotics can unleash devastating power into the world around them. Difficult to tame, those who channel chaos are viewed as a threat to the status quo and enemies of the cybernetic world.
As a player in Cyber Frame, you can choose to harness technology to gain power and prestige in this new world, or attempt to tame unpredictable chaos magic to tilt the scales of justice to your whim.
