Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Brigidy Bram is a feature film slated for release in January 2024. We’ve put years of our lives into the making of this documentary because it stars one of the greatest artists of our time: Kendal Hanna.

Heard of him? If not, get ready to discover the one of the world’s most intriguing painters.

Hanna’s contemporaries, like Pollock, Rothko and de Kooning, have enjoyed decades of praise from the media, chapters upon chapters in art history textbooks and reams of paper in the annals of art history, all while Hanna’s work has rarely been seen outside New Providence, his home island in the Bahamas.

Today we change that.

Brigidy Bram uncovers the forces that threatened to erase Hanna’s memory, his work, and his name from history.

Hanna is 86 years old and recently made a miraculous recovery from stage four cancer. Our goal is to release this film as soon as possible to ensure that he can attend the premiere in person. You can help us get there.

As of May 31st, this project has raised $12,900 of their $25,000 goal. This project has 27 days left to raise the $25,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $20, you will get a streaming link to the film.  For a pledge of $45, you will get two mugs.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lauragamse/brigidy-bram-a-feature-documentary-film?
