The Fun Fact Trivia Deck series is launching on Kickstarter on March 22nd, and it’s the perfect game for our attention-deprived world. The decks are a more gamified version of classic trivia and focus on outlandish and taboo facts that make people go “WOW”.
The decks come in a variety of subjects, including Death, Animals, Humans, Space and more. While the subjects seem common, the facts are not. In fact, each prompt highlights the surprising, tantalizing and outright crazy parts of our world. The game blends these curious prompts with a sharp comedic tone for a truly captivating experience.
The trivia game is the brainchild of two educators and designers who are passionate about blending learning and entertainment (edutainment?). They wanted to create something analog to compete with the ever-growing screen time that permeates our everyday life. Taking inspiration from short-form social videos, the Fun Fact Trivia Decks are catchy, addictive, educational and easily enjoyed in short bursts (if that’s your thing).
The Decks are a great match for anyone who enjoys being fascinated. They are written in a way that is enticing not only for adults, but younger readers who might otherwise struggle to find something to hold their attention. The game is nerdy, but AOK for ages 10+. No TV-MA content here (even if we do tackle odd subjects like death).
Early backers of the campaign will receive a 33% discount on the card decks and an exclusive download of the hilarious People Watching Bingo game. More trivia deck subjects will be unlocked throughout the campaign. Christman Hersha, co-founder, explained why this game is unique: “As a homeschool parent, I’m always looking for something that can hold the attention of everyone in the family, without the need for a screen. The Fun Fact Trivia Decks do just that by mixing surprising facts of our world with a feisty tone.”
As of March 23rd, this project has raised $1,000 of their $27,000 goal. This project has 29 days left to raise the $27,000 or it will not be funded.
