Crowdsourcing Mornings: The Alleyman Podcast CD Set

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

The Alleyman Podcast asks a simple question through its 13 episode run: Who owns a myth, and who has the right to tell it? As Dr. Okoye discovers in his own search, a simple or clean answer is difficult to find. Owning a myth is difficult, but you can now own the show on a 6-CD box set, alongside a companion book with the scripts, behind the scenes trivia, and art.

Each CD set will come with exclusive Alleyman tarot cards, with 7 unique artist interpretations of the titular character, perfectly sized to go into your Alleyman deck.

This strangely ubiquitous figure is everywhere. An alleyway con-artist who will scam you of your watch and wallet as often as he’ll read your fortune. The world first heard of him in our lifetime with the Alleyman’s Tarot, which ran in 2021. The two-time award winning 137+ card tarot deck where every card was found from other decks over time by the Alleyman himself, curated and strangely put together by Seven Dane Asmund for the world to have. It quickly exploded and became the most funded and supported tarot Kickstarter of all time.

But the obsession with the deck, and its founder, was not sated with merely having his deck. Who the Alleyman is, this person on the fringe of society, this Outsider, has stayed on our minds. The Alleyman seems to be able to be anyone, anyone that society has forgotten, ignores, that we have come to think of as other. In this space, the spirit of the Alleyman thrives.

As of October 12th, this project has raised $20,200 of their $20,000 goal. This project has 22 days left to raise as much as it can.  For a pledge of $7, you will get 7 tarot cards.  For a pledge of $15, you will get one book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/publishinggoblin/the-alleyman-podcast?
