Explore Cars Designed By Iconic Film Directors

From: https://www.vehiclecontracts.co.uk/blog/film-director-car-designs/

Cinema has always been heavily entwined with the motor industry from silent films through to the modern-day. With franchises like Fast & Furious grossing $5.9 billion to date and speculation on the next Bond car all over the internet whenever a new film’s announced, the two industries go hand in hand.

That’s why we at Vehicle Contracts have dreamed up what cars would look like if your favorite film directors designed them, as well as what some of their technical specifications would be. We’ve featured motors from icons like Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Tim Burton and more.

Director of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Quentin Tarantino’s The Big Kahuna

Key Features

– Powerful muscle car
– Huge horsepower
– Extra boot space

About ‘The Big Kahuna’

Powerful, fast and vibrant, Quentin Tarantino’s Big Kahuna motor will feature his signature bold style with bright yellow coloring, making it stand out against any backdrop, whether on the streets of LA or pulling up to the House of Blue Leaves restaurant in Tokyo.

In the style of an American muscle car, the Big Kahuna will be a low-ride vehicle with big wheels and a statement grill. It will feature nods to some of the director’s most loved movies including Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill and Django Unchained.

A powerful engine with a kick, Tarantino’s car will have a huge horsepower, impressive torque and an 8-litre engine running on diesel but with electric versions available. It will also have plenty of boot space for anything that needs to be transported, no questions asked.

Director of The French Dispatch, Wes Anderson’s The MENDL’S Automobile

Key Features

– Chic aesthetic
– Pastel color options
– 0 to 60 mph in under three seconds

About ‘The MENDL’S Automobile’

Like Wes Anderson’s films, the MENDL’S Automobile is stylish. A vintage coupe with a cultured look, inspired by European elegance – you could expect to see one driving along the roads of the French city, Ennui-sur-Blasé or around the Republic of Zubrowka, parked outside a luxury hotel.

The motor will be meticulously designed with a focus on its chic aesthetic and symmetrical lines. You’ll also be able to choose from muted pastel color options to suit your unique style and match your Steve Zissou-inspired beanie.

The MENDL’S Automobile may be small but it will be quick, reaching 0 to 60 in under three seconds. There’s also plenty of storage space for vintage family luggage and a spare seat for your fluffy companion.

Director of Dune, Dennis Villeneuve’s The Replicant

Key Features

– Hydrogen-powered
– Four-wheel-drive
– Built-in translator

About ‘The Replicant’

The future of motoring, Denis Villeneuve’s, The Replicant will bring 2049 to the modern-day with its unique design and body type. With a clean, white coloring and signature heptapod mark, this motor really catches the eye.

This powerful motor utilizes a hydrogen-core engine, propelling it both on and off-road thanks to its adaptable four-wheel-drive, adaptive suspension and rugged body. With the elongated windows, you’ll have a wide view to let you see what’s coming in all directions whether that’s a sandworm or other motorists.

With a built-in translator, you’ll not struggle to communicate with the locals anywhere in the universe.

With ten Academy Award nominations in 2022 for ‘Dune’, we wonder how many What Car? awards The Replicant would pick up.

Director of Dumbo, Tim Burton’s AHE (All Hallows’ Eve)

Key Features

– Spooky look
– 200 mph top speed
– Powerful EV

About ‘The AHE (All Hallows’ Eve)’

Tim Burton is a director who focuses on the weird, wonderful and spooky side of life and uses a gothic aesthetic as a backdrop to stories featuring loveable yet unusual characters.

The AHE, short for Tim Burton’s favorite time of year, All Hallows’ Eve, will scream of the gothic style we’ve come to love and associate with Burton and his works. Made for driving at night, the AHE is perfect for catching people up to no good down dark alleyways thanks to its silent, electric engine.

The AHE is only available in dark hues including midnight black, eerie black and Japanese violet purple. It’s styled on a hearse and is filled with calls to the spooky season like Jack ‘O’ Lantern alloys, a bat wing-body as well as Beetlejuice’s black and white trim.

Burton’s car has a tremendously powerful engine with a 1,000 HP, top speed of 200 mph and a maximum range of just under 400 miles.

Director of The Great Dictator, Charlie Chaplin’s Hynkel

Key Features

– Vintage style
– Convertible roof
– Wind-up mechanical power

About ‘The Hynkel’

Charlie Chaplin was an actor and filmmaker known for his silent films featuring slapstick comedy and his iconic look; his moustache, bowler hat and cane.

A blast from the past, Charlie Chaplin’s Hynkel will be a vintage motor with a modern feel. Powered by wound cogs, this is an eco-friendly car, perfect for the streets of big cities under bright lights.

In the style of the early years of the 20th century, Hynkel is a convertible for driving around in style. Key features include Chaplin’s iconic bowler hat hood ornament and a window in which you can see the mechanical cogs powering the motor.

It may look vintage but its powerful engine can take you from 0 to 60mph in just over three seconds and will let you easily navigate around city traffic.
