Crowdsourcing Mornings: The Brave Coin

Welcome to the Crowdsourcing Mornings segment!  Every weekday morning, Geek Alabama talks about and features one crowdsourcing project from crowdsourcing sites such as Kickstarter, Indiegogo, and others.  The hope with Crowdsourcing Mornings is to feature and help a project be successful and reach its fundraising goal.  Please enjoy today’s featured project!

Know a young child who feels scared about new experiences? What’s scarier… a dragon or the first day of school?

For Sam, it is the first day of school that terrifies him, but could a wizard, a fire-breathing dragon, and a quest for a magic coin help him tackle his fears?

This magical story helps kids discover what it truly means to be brave and find the courage inside to believe in yourself. We all have fears, but it is how we face them that makes us heroic.

This story was inspired by my oldest son when he was nervous about joining a new team and didn’t know any of the other kids. He asked me if I could make him invisible.

It was that day he learned about the magic of The Brave Coin, took the coin with him, and overcame his fear. We all know a child who needs a little extra support. All the kids who must face their fears and need a little something to remind them they have the courage already inside them.

Read the book about how a coin can give them the extra confidence they may need!

As of January 28th, this project has raised $7,500 of their $7,400 goal. This project has 26 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $27, you will get one signed hardcover book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/thebravecoin/the-brave-coin?
