This book is a valuable resource for talking to children about love, death, and the stages of grief — all of which can be difficult for children, especially young ones, to grasp. Grams & Me sparks the conversation in a positive way, in hopes of offering support and comfort to children experiencing the overwhelming emotions of losing someone in their own life.

The Blurb:

Cami is assigned an IMPOSSIBLE task for class. She has to talk about her grandparents for show-and-tell, but the catch is . . . she never got the chance to meet hers! Join Cami on a magical ride through time as she discovers the beauty of family and the ties that bind us. This heartwarming story is perfect for children who never got to meet that someone special from the family tree.

As a little girl, I was always curious about the people in my family and how we were all connected. It was fascinating learning about the different walks of life taken by loved ones I never got the chance to meet. My family would never hesitate to pull out the family albums and answer my seemingly never-ending questions. That curiosity ignited a spark, that never seemed to fade. Throughout my journey teaching and nannying, I met some wonderful kiddos. They taught me so much about their families and their feelings. You’d be amazed at how perceptive they are to the world around them.

This past year and a half hasn’t been easy on anyone. Many of us have experienced loss in one form or another, little ones included. I wanted to be able to provide a resource for those of us that needed a little pickmeup during this difficult time. Losing someone special can create an immense amount of grief that can be difficult to process. This book can be used as an outlet to start the conversation that leads towards healing.

Grams & Me reminds me of happier times spent with my family, and I hope it does the same for you!
