Welcome to Disability Awesome. Each week, this post will feature a person or persons with mental and / or physical disabilities who are doing awesome things! As someone with an disability, I love it when others when disabilities do great things!

A woman with down syndrome has been doing great on the golf course.  During a practice round at the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open, defending champion Gary Woodland asks Amy Bockerstette from Special Olympics Arizona to play the infamous 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale. Amy recently became the first collegiate golfer to compete with an intellectual disability such as Down Syndrome.

After this amazing moment, Bockerstette and her family began the I Got This Foundation, which provides golf instruction and opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Amy has gotten to do a lot of speeches and special appearances, and now she is playing golf in the National Junior College Athletic Association National Championship playing for Paradise Valley Community College.  I wanted to showcase two videos showcasing more about Amy Bockerstette.
