She loves adventures, animals, and the beach where her family has lived since before she was born. She’s also a sea witch, channeling the power of the ocean into elemental spells. But when Sunday’s parents announce a big move and suddenly the one thing that’s always made her feel magical is far away, she’s not feeling much like a witch. To reconnect with her power, she’ll have to remember where her magic really comes from—inside.

Sunday the Sea Witch is a whimsical children’s book that weaves modern witchcraft practices into a story about change and transition. Loosely inspired by the author’s own cross country move, the story’s catchy rhymes and mystical illustrations speak to both children and adults.

In the third book from independent children’s publisher Moon Dust Press, readers will join Sunday as she explores what it means to be a sea witch and ultimately rediscovers her innate power through intuitive ritual. From the author-illustrator team that created Brina: A Pagan Picture Book, this empowering and relatable tale reminds us that no matter where we are, magic is never far away.

Sunday the Sea Witch is the biggest project we’ve taken on yet. The manuscript is nearly 1,000 words (3 times the length of Brina) and we’ve done a deep dive into researching mythology and lore about water witchcraft from around the globe to enrich Sunday’s world. The illustrations include intentional references to these stories and deities, prompting discussions and curiosity that will last far beyond the pages of the book.

As of May 6th, this project has raised $20,000 of their $7,500 goal. This project has 13 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $10, you will get one E-Book.  For a pledge of $35, you will get one hardcover book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/moondustpress/sunday-the-sea-witch?
