Trainscapes: Street Running Train In Gadsden, Alabama

Advertisements

Welcome to Trainscapes.  Each week, we will feature train content including videos of trains and behind the scenes action of trains and locomotives!

Street running trains are becoming more rarer in our world today, but some towns still has one train track running down a public street.  In Gadsden, Alabama, a portion of Locust Street has the Alabama and Tennessee River Railway running down the middle of the street.

Here is YouTube channel Bamarailfan catching one of the trains street running.

I finally got the chance to see a street running train in Gadsden recently after getting my second COVID-19 shot.  Here are some pictures that I took.  The traffic light intersection at Locust Street and North 6th Street was not working properly so an ATN Railway employee had to flag traffic.
