Sunday Discussion: Why America Throws The Poor In Prison

Welcome to Sunday Discussion. Each week, this post will feature a serious topic that needs to be featured and talked about. You can “discuss” it on your own social media networks as comments are banned here on Geek Alabama.

America built mass incarceration: the wholesale imprisonment of entire populations. Why, exactly, are so many people in prison – more than the entire population of New Mexico?  That’s the focus for this week’s video from The Gravel Institute.

Chase Madar, professor of law at NYU Gallatin, explains.
