We are a bi-annual print magazine focused on the intersection of art, travel, and the outdoors. Two issues a year only, with a limited print run of 1000 copies each.
We love print magazines, we love the smell and feel of paper, and appreciate the process of seeing work come together. We hate when we are told that print is dying because we believe in print, the same way we believe people increasingly value Open Spaces. We love exploring the outdoors, we love experiencing Art, outside the four walls of a gallery. We love working with photographers and writers who are passionate and want to see their work printed. We love inspiring our readers to think freely, and believe travel reminds us of our freedom and helps define who we are as individuals. We believe in the magic of allowing for spontaneity and to follow curiosity and we hate to be dictated what to do, or see. Finding something new and pure in the unexpected.
That’s why we’re making OPEN SPACES Magazine— our first printed issue dedicated to Land Art and Travel will be published in March 2021, with two issues per year, for as long as we can afford to continue.
OPEN SPACES examines the relationship between humans and nature by looking into the complex beauty of the latter, seeking to explore uncharted destinations, unique journeys, personal stories and artist practices that are connected with, and rooted in nature; it is a platform to share stories, conversations and content with the mission of educating and inspiring our reader.
There are no outdoor magazines in the marketplace that pair the connection between Art, Nature and Humans to create a journey.
As of February 9th, this project has raised $14,000 of their $10,000 goal. This project has 30 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $24, you will get one magazine issue.
