3 Easy Ways To Keep Your House Clean During A Pandemic

Advertisements

What does your house look like during the COVID-19 pandemic? It’s more important than ever to have a clean home. But I’ll admit, staying inside all the time has made me a little bit lazy about cleaning up.

I hate scrubbing, sweeping, and mopping, so I decided to find some geek-friendly ways to make cleaning up easier.

These tips and hacks will help you keep your home free from COVID-19 and clean for you and your family!

Allume UV-C Light Wand

Using UV light is one of the coolest ways to clean your house and kill COVID-19. Before, it was only used at hospitals. But now, you can get UV light at home with the Allume UV-C wand.

This gadget is perfect for a tech geek like me, and it’s also really easy to use. All you have to do is turn the light on and shine it on your stuff, and it will kill 99.99% of germs including bacteria and viruses like COViD-19. That means no scrubbing or washing every day. You just pass the light over everything to clean it.

It might be hard to believe, but UV light really works to kill COVID. Even the CDC and Columbia University have said it can kill the virus.

Another good thing about Allume is that it can kill germs on just about anything. Because you don’t need water to disinfect with Allume, you can clean things like your phone, computer, headphones, mail, deliveries, and even food.

It’s about the size of a flashlight, so you can take it with you when you leave too. It’s perfect for cleaning doorknobs, railings, bathrooms, and bus or car seats. You can disinfect anything in seconds.

If you want to check it out, you can find out more from the Allume manufacturer’s website, violethealthcare.com. You can also buy it for a special price during the pandemic. It’s on sale for 50% off.

Quarantine Your Stuff

I bring groceries, mail, food deliveries, and gadgets home all the time. But I didn’t realize that these were risky ways to bring COVID-19 into the house.

I read about a good idea to stop germs from coming in from outside. To stop germs, you make a quarantine zone near your door where you drop all of the stuff you bring inside. You leave it there until a safe amount of time has passed or until you can disinfect it.

This really helps to keep your home safe from outside germs. And, it also made my house a lot cleaner. When I put all the stuff from outside into one box, I noticed a lot less clutter in my room!

It’s also a good idea to take your shoes off and keep them in the box too. You can bring a lot of dirt and germs in on your shoes.

Disinfect “High-Touch” Areas

I went a little bit crazy with disinfectant spray early in the pandemic. I was spraying everything, all the time. But I don’t think it’s healthy to constantly spray disinfectant into the air you breathe!

Plus, I was using a lot of chemicals, which isn’t good for the environment.

I leaned an awesome cleaning hack from the CDC to help manage my cleaning. They suggest disinfecting “high-touch” areas often and other areas less often. High-touch areas, if you didn’t guess already, are areas that you touch a lot. They include doorknobs, counters, remotes, railings, and chairs.

These things can be sprayed often and it only takes a few seconds to do. Doing this can make your house a lot safer in a little time.

Unfortunately, you can’t spray some high-touch areas like phones, tablets, and computers. But You can clean those using UV light with Allume or by sanitizing them with wipes for electronics.

Clean Like a Geek for a Healthy Home

You don’t have to spend all your time worrying and cleaning or housekeeping during a pandemic. If you clean like a geek, you can get all the work done in just a little time.

I highly recommend the Allume light wand for easy cleaning. You don’t have to use any chemicals and water to clean with it, and it can disinfect just about anything safely.

But, Allume won’t stop new germs from coming in, so don’t forget about your quarantine zone too. And of course, keep disinfecting your high-touch areas.

With these tips, you’ll have a clean and happy home during the pandemic.
