An LGBTQ+ Classic Christmas Movie
“Single mom and lesbian, Jane, is the best (wo)man in her ex-husband’s Christmas wedding. She’s feeling lonelier than ever until she inadvertently falls for Sue, the wedding planner. As the big day approaches, Jane needs a Christmas miracle to save the wedding and change her life.”
Each Christmas, people enjoy those lighthearted, Holiday-themed storylines, those predictable happily-ever-after endings, and entertainment that can take your mind off the world for a little bit. Last year, 70 new Christmas movies premiered on the Hallmark and Lifetime channels– none of them contained gay lead characters or storylines. We are looking to change this lack of LGBTQ+ representation with an accessible, LGBTQ-positive Christmas movie that everyone can enjoy!
Ali Liebert (Bomb Girls, multiple Hallmark Christmas movies, and advocate for LGBTQ+ characters and rights) is attached as lead character, Jane.
“A Holiday I Do” is filming later this year for a Holiday season 2021 release.
For this film, it is important to us to collaborate with a well-balanced cast and crew to represent diverse genders and identities. The film will qualify for a ReFrame stamp, which means we are a gender balanced film with women in key positions.
Most importantly, at least 10% of all film proceeds benefit causes that help LGBTQ youth, such as The Trevor Project. They are the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning youth.
As of August 7th, this project has raised $9,000 of their $50,000 goal. This project has 11 days left to raise the $50,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $5, you will get project updates.
