Crowdsourcing Mornings: Summer Of The Cicadas

Advertisements

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at: https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

Summer of the Cicadas is about a West Virginian town where a brood of Magicicadas emerges for the first time in seventeen years. The cicadas damage crops and trees, and swarm locals. Jessica, a former cop whose entire family was killed almost two years ago in a car crash, is deputized during the crisis.

Throughout the book, Jessica must deal with her feelings for her sister’s best friend, Natasha, who is a town council member. Although the two are close, their relationship is tested as the cicadas wreak havoc. In addition to her feelings for Natasha, she also must confront her own prior drug abuse and her growing alcohol dependency, all while navigating small town politics, sexism, homophobia, and classism.

As of June 25th, this project has raised $2,500 of their $5,000 goal. This project has 6 days left to raise the $5,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $5, you will get a digital download.  For a pledge of $15, you will get one book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/redhenpress/summer-of-the-cicadas?
