It seems hard enough for adults to talk about climate change, but how do you even begin to explain it to your kids? In Climate Change: The Choice is Ours, we set out to start the conversation.
Climate Change: The Choice is Ours is one of the first books to fully explain climate change to a young audience. It includes sections on: the science of climate, the history of earth’s climate, the greenhouse effect, emissions, sea levels, weather, impacts on agriculture and disease, and more.
On every page, readers will find a spinning arrow that they can spin to point to either side of the page. One side has recommendations for how to curb climate change—the other has what will happen if we don’t do anything. It’s a fully interactive lesson with a powerful message: would you leave climate change to chance? A perfect tool for home and classroom discussions!
The book is gentle and friendly, but it doesn’t shy away from hard truths. It avoids alarmist language while aiming instead to educate and empower kids.
In addition to teaching the science of climate change, the book is packed with recommendations on ways kids and their families can make a difference.
