This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Pittsburgh-based multimedia outlet Postindustrial focuses on storytelling in the Rust Belt and Appalachia. As a global pandemic rages, we want to expand our capacity to tell stories of challenges, hope, and resilience across our region.
Postindustrial includes Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, and parts of New York and North Carolina. We will focus our reporting on these regions with a special emphasis on smaller communities or areas where daily media outlets may not be present.
Our aim is to tell stories that may otherwise not be reported. With a successful campaign, we will produce:
* Podcasts featuring newsmakers from the region discussing the challenges they’re facing and how they are meeting those challenges in their communities.
* Reported stories and perspective pieces highlighting individuals in smaller communities throughout Postindustrial America, their challenges and how we can help one another.
* A special digital edition of our magazine focused on stories of challenges, hope, and resilience.
* One or more short documentaries accompanying our reported stories as a means to help others in Postindustrial America learn from what’s working, and what’s not.
We will also offer advertising space throughout this campaign at no charge in our daily and weekly newsletters to any local business or nonprofit that would like to share a message about their organization.
We rise by lifting others.
As of April 10th, this project has raised $4,000 of their $8,000 goal. This project has 13 days left to raise the $8,000 goal or it will not be funded.
