Crowdsourcing Mornings: The Great Bork Team

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Please read our crowdsourcing guidelines at: https://geekalabama.com/media-kit-pr/geek-alabama-crowdsourcing-guidelines

Tied next to your friends that you’ve grown up with, trained with, fought with, and tussled with you feel a sudden adrenaline rush like never before. Your survival isn’t the only thing on the line. Behind you is your friend, your squishy hoomin who feeds you. You hear your hoomin’s shout to mush and your body responds.

In The Great Bork Team, intended for a young adult to adult audience, 3 players are dogs while one player is the musher/your game master. Your only objective is making it home as a team through RUFF terrain. As a newbie group of dogs joining a more experienced team things will likely not go as smoothly as your musher intended. As dogs, players must ask themselves in the face of temptation what would a good dog do?

This game specifically is not focusing on the Iditarod or the abusive practices involving dog racing. It’s about perceiving the natural world, thinking and reacting in a different way than you’re used to… like a dog.

This is currently a 4-8 page rpg, inspired by the antics of Grant Howitt, that can be played between your bigger campaigns. However you wish to consume this game is up to you, play it once, chew it up and poop it out or play it multiple times over several sessions with new dogs.

The core mechanic that makes this game fun and special is barking in unison on what you would like to do before you roll and creating new words as a team for discoveries or new dangers along the road.

As of February 21st, this project has raised $600 of their $1,500 goal. This project has 12 days left to raise the $1,500 or it will not be funded.  For a pledge of $1, you will get a mention in the credits.  For a pledge of $10, you will get a physical copy of the zine.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/haiduc/the-great-bork-team?
