Hello everyone! I am excited to introduce my first ever Kickstarter project: a children’s book written, illustrated, and bound by me. The book is written in Japanese and will be translated with an inline translation into English. All books will have both languages.

The title of the book is “Monster Preschool.” The story follows a young boy who is just learning the basics of sharing. He has the propensity to take every toy from his friends, hoarding them and causing all sorts of trouble. Unfortunately, his habits are a catalyst for the most profound transformation. This little boys greed turns him into a cute monster, and since there are no monsters in his preschool he is taken to a new monster preschool for care.

I hope that this original story will provide a gateway to a fantastic world where parents and their children can have an adventure while discussing the process and benefits of sharing. Many of the pages are filled with detailed illustrations that your children will enjoy over many readings. I have personally enjoyed reading it to my children and finding new secrets with them. I would love for this to be a book that sparks fun dialogues between children and their parents. Every page was hand painted, in acrylics by me.

With your support I will be able to hire a professional photographer ($250) to help me digitize my work, as well as pay for the printing costs ($1000) and ISBN registration ($250) of the book. Any remaining funds will be used to pay for fees, taxes, and the purchase the tools necessary for binding. Once the book is printed, I will be binding each one by hand. For supporters whose rewards are books, you’ll receive a project unique to you, bound and inspected personally by me.

As of December 27th, this project has raised $7,500 of their $1,827 goal. This project has 46 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $5, you will get a personal thank you e-mail.  For a pledge of $23, you will get one signed copy of the book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1886343237/monster-preschool?
