The Ifs is a new educational toy that teaches kids from 3 to 10 years old the basics of computer programming. It consists of a family of four robots in which each member has different superpowers. Children imagine amazing adventures and bring them to life by programming the robots. The Ifs strengthens learning through play in early childhood and is suitable for middle childhood to learn more complex concepts.
As parents and educators, our goal is to help children develop safe and healthy habits for technology use. With this in mind, we designed The Ifs to empower our own kids and students to become creative, engaged, lifelong learners. These skills are essential so children can invent their own future. Preschoolers from 3 years play The Ifs with their parents and experiment with light, music, color, or even emotions. From 4 to 6 years, children use their imaginations to combine basic blocks in amazing adventures with flashlights, traps, or chain reactions.
Nevertheless, if you are a coding geek, The Ifs is an Open Source project, and we would love you to contribute.
