Get Your Thanksgiving Turkey Fried By The Calhoun County Sheriff Office 2019

Time for another year where volunteers from the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office fry’s up turkeys for the Thanksgiving feast, and it’s all for a good cause!  In 2019, the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office will once again offer people an opportunity to have their turkey fried the day before Thanksgiving. The Calhoun County Sheriff will have turkey fryers set up at the Sheriff’s Office where they will season, then fry turkeys throughout the day.

The doors for this special event opens at 8 am at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office.  But, it is recommended to be there earlier before 8 am.  The turkeys must weigh less than 17 pounds and be completely thawed and in original packaging.  Turkeys can be delivered starting at 8 am and the cutoff is 10 am or when they reach their turkey limit, which is usually around 125 turkeys.

Once your turkey is cooked, you can bring a pan to pick up your turkey.  The sheriff’s office can not accept your dish/pan at drop off.  To have your turkey cooked by volunteers at the Sheriff’s office, a $15 or more donation is required.  All money donated at this event will go towards the Deputy Sheriffs Association where they will furnish a Thanksgiving dinner and buy Christmas presents for children in foster care.

All turkeys must be picked up by 4 pm or they will be donated! The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office is located at 400 W. 8th Street in Anniston, AL.  If you want to be insured your turkey can be cooked, please get there way before the 8 am opening.  There is usually a long line way before 8 am.

The event takes place on Wednesday, November 27th.  RSVP on Facebook by clicking the link below.
