Lanie Learns to Code is a children’s book that teaches kids how they can use coding in their everyday lives. Lanie Learns to Code is a book about a girl named Lanie and her best friend Charlie, who are excited about learning the technology of coding. While taking coding classes at their local elementary school, Lanie thinks of a wonderful idea to use coding to help find her lost puppy, Daisy. With the help of her school’s coding teacher, Ms. Peterson, and the support of her best friend Charlie, she builds a startup to not only help find her puppy Daisy but help other people find their lost pets too.
Helena Ingram is the author of “Lanie Learns to Code.” She wrote this book last year during her senior year of high school in hopes of encouraging young kids to become interested in STEM. She started coding when she was fourteen years old and has loved it ever since. Her favorite experience with coding so far has been volunteering to teach coding classes at Mount Auburn Elementary School. It was the wonderful students and faculty at this school that inspired her to write this book.
As of November 4th, this project has raised $2,000 of their $5,000 goal. This project has 28 days left to raise the $5,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $5, you will get project updates.
